Week in Review
A big shoutout to all y'all I saw last Sunday. Mel, Christina, Rebecca and I met at Canalways Center at 8 and started on our 60 mile trek about 8:30. Mike Substelny caught up with us shortly thereafter, as we stopped to water up at Carvel/Park City (~9 miles into our trek). A couple hours later we turned around in 'the Valley,' and then hooked up with Chad and Theresa, who showed us the jersey prototype. I think they'll come out well. Then we stopped at Szalay's for roasted sweet corn, apple turnovers and fresh lemonade, carbing up for the trip back. a while after that, we came across Mike Kechisen who was riding the other way (he got a late start - something about still being on Vegas time?) and as he rode off, we were passed by Bob Zaylor, who the group then recruited to join the Paladins. We stopped once more for water (Carvel/Park City again) and finished about 3:30.
Tuesday night, Rebecca and I volunteered at the packet pickup in Akron @ Jillian's, where I gorged myself on free hotwings, wonderful nacho chips and salsa, and fresh veggies. Also saw Chad & Theresa again, and R & I turned in a bunch of money.
Last night, Mike Substelny and I went for a spin around the neighborhood getting in 15-20 miles before it got dark.
The pledge money from Tuesday night finally posted to the web pages today, bringing our team total to just under $15K.
Folks, we got 8 days left and more than $5,000 to raise! Have you e-mailed everyone you know today? Better yet: wait until Tuesday the 15th! That's payday for a whole lotta people! They'll be feelin' rich and generous (I hope)!
Ride on.
